As of 10/12/09 NIC DO will be introducing changes in the policies that govern the registration of domain names under .do, these include, among other things:

  • Establishment of the duties and responsibilities of both the registrant and NIC DO.
  • Updating of the policies and procedures of processes related to the registration of domain names.
  • The definition and implementation of a dispute resolution policy on domain names.
  • The option to register domains under .do directly.
  • The mandatory acceptance of the Registration Agreement established by NIC DO.

Therefore renewals of all domains registered before 10/12/09 will be conditional upon acceptance of the Registration Agreement. For such purposes NIC DO will send an email to the administrative contact of each domain indicating the steps to follow for the acceptance of the Registration Agreement.

Until the evidence of acceptance of the Registration Agreement is received, payments for domain renewal will not be accepted. If the payment is received for this concept without prior acceptance of the Registration Agreement, it will not be applied to the domain.

We invite you to know the new policies.

Sincerely,
Domain Registration Office – NIC DO
